Ft. Lauderdale!
Two weekends ago I was able to take a few days off and go spend some time down in Ft. Lauderdale with Nonni, Carinda, Joe and Heather. It was really nice to get away for the weekend! I also caught up with a good friend of mine Cami since she was home visiting her family!

All in all it was a great weekend full of relaxing, soaking up the sun and spending time with family and a good friend!

Mt. Cheaha 50k Weekend Feb 26-28, 2010
It's that time of year again! On Friday Feb. 26Th. Blake, Dilla and I loaded up in the car and made the 6 hour drive to Oxford, AL for The 5Th Annual Mt. Cheaha 50k Ultra Marathon. After getting checked into our hotel we enjoyed some lunch and relaxing before we met up with the rest of the Ferrini Family (Joe, Gayle, Carinda and her friend Heather). We were very excited to introduce them to our new addition Dilla, whom they all LOVED!

We exchanged hello's and of course big hugs before we took a drive to the top of Mt. Cheaha. We stopped at the pull offs to check out the views as we made our way up. This is the first time in 5 years Blake and I were able to see the top of the mountain and it was BREATH TAKING!
Saturday morning we got up early and made our way to the race start! It was a very cold morning. Dilla and I made our way to the aid stations to make sure everyone was doing OK and show them support! For the most part Dilla just hung out but at one point he got a little angry that he was stuck in the car and I was outside so he ate the roof lining! At Aid Station #2 Blake pulled out of the race. He was having a really hard time with the cold and his circulation. I can't say I was to sad about this because I now had help with the dog and making sure I gave everyone what they needed when they made it to the aid station.
Later on in the day Blake and I got to spend some time with some great friends of ours. Nathan and Elizabeth came to visit with their two dogs Alby and Maddie. It had been some time since we had last seen them so it was really great to have their company at the race!
The race was coming to an end. Joe had finished in 7hrs. 23 min... Way to go Mr. Old!

Carinda, Gayle and Heather all finished the race coming in at 9hr 7 min. You did it Ladies!!
After the race ended we all headed back to our hotels. Later on we met up for dinner then it was time for bed!! Blake and I woke up wicked early Sunday morning to make our way back home. We had several things we needed to get done before the family stopped by for lunch that afternoon! After dealing with a flat tire and having to by a new one we made it home in time to get everything ready for lunch and wait for the van full of Ferrini's plus Heather to arrive! We enjoyed a yummy lunch of burgers, veggies and potato salad before we took a walk so everyone could stretch out and get ready for the next leg or their journey!

All and all it was a great weekend! We really enjoyed traveling to Alabama, spending time with family and friends and each other!! We are looking forward to The Mt. Cheaha 50k next year!!

Giving the Blogging a shot!

Wow it is 2010!!!So far this year has been going very well. We can't believe that it is March already, Boy how the time flies by.
We have decided to give this blog thing a shot so that our family and friends can stay in contact with us and see what we have been up to! With the craziness of life it is hard to stay up to date with everyone or even pick up the phone and just check in sometimes! We all know we can get on the Internet and post quickly and in times we normally can't talk. So lets see how this works!
We are really looking forward to hear from you all and hope things are going great!
Jessie and Blake!
